A set of tests I ran a while back trying to work on an "Abstract Lush" concept for a client that didn't pan out.
Initial test (pink / purple) done with Cinema4D cloners + deformers. This result looked too stiff and artificial in my opinion.

Next iterations are done with hair simulation + plant models used as hair objects with deformation.
